Meant to say - Cody is a nice name. We don't have an SSPCA centre locally but I believe they are much better than the RSPCA.
slinky- a Lurcher is not a pure breed...it is a sighthound (greyhound, whippet, etc) crossed with something else-ie-another sighthound, collie, terrier, or other similar working dog.

pasta i dont know what other breed, how do i find out,the sspca cant tell me anything else, just that he's between 6/7 months old, been well trained and in the animal shelter for 2 weeks.
You may not be able to find out exactly what he is-but try googling pictures of lurchers-and that may give you an idea.

good luck!
congrats on the new dog, kate and I am sure you will grow to love him as much as you rex, just in a different way.

mike, that pig joke was very funny and I will use it, but not totally apropos for kate on her day of joy.
Is he here or from one of these rehoming centres?

Great news kate, I hope you and Cody will have many happy years together!
Gosh wolf-3/4 of them a staffies......poor doggies.
I saw that pasta - 50 of them. Years ago my dad wanted a staffie but he only knew one person with one and didn't know much about them. If only he had lived a bit longer to see the chavs destroy the reputation of an otherwise good breed.

If I had to get one of the dogs I would get one of the mastiffs. There were tons of cats looking for homes too - evil little b'st*rds that they are. ;-)
Well done you - being adopted by Cody ;-) hope you'll have many happy years together xx
kate. im so glad you got the lurcher, well done /
Good for you Kate. Lurchers are great but they tend to P on my border terrier when he walks under them
Very pleased that you decided to take him, kate. x
Oh slinky, that's lovely: I always enjoy hearing about new arrivals! I hope you both make one another very happy. Give him a cuddle from me x
Question Author
thank you everyone,he is a pleasure.
Question Author
he is asleep on the couch,on his back with his 3 legs in the air.
good on you slinky!,,,,,,,,I know that your new dog will have a very happy life with you!.....
That's great Kate!
Coincidently we went to hopefully adopt a 'tripawd' from pdsa today! Unfortunately the match isn't just right for him/us but there is a queue of people wanting to take him home!
You are right - he will never replace any other dog - he will just be him. And that is what you will love about him!
Best wishes to you and your new pal.
Awww slinky, he sounds adorable xxx
Cannot wait to see pics xxx
