How much exercise is good for a four-month-old Border Collie, do you think? Two miles a day, three, or what? There's a lot of conflicting info about.

When i got my puppy i had the same question and i asked the vet. He said that too much excercise when they are young can damage their joints as their bones are still growing. He told me to be careful until he was about 7 months and then after that gradually increase how far we walk. I would recommend asking your vet. They should be able to give you a clear indication of how much is suitable.

Alot of play around the house can help you determine how much your puppy can take. when she looking tired give her a break. I have two border collie , australian shephard crosses and they had completely different personalities as puppies. One was hyper and one was mellow. We just made sure to play with them a lot every day and let them race around the house, and once a week we took them out to a big field or dog park to really get out and stretch their legs. they're 8 and 10 years old now and still race around like they were puppies.
