I am going away on holiday in May and the kennels where my dog will be staying said that he needs to be fully vaccinated and he should be protected from kennel cough. firstly can someone tell me what kennel cough is? is it just a cough as it suggests? and also, how do they get protected from it? vaccination, tablets? if it's a vaccination, is it included in the vaccination they have when they are a puppy?

hi - kennel cough is a cough but it is quite bad.  It is also certainly not exclusive to 'kennels' it's just highly contagious so more likely to spread through kennels.

Not sure about the vaccination hopefully clanad's link will help.

It's a nasal spray given by the vet.
