To all non pet owners!

TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS:

(1) They live here. You don't.
(2) If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay
off the furniture. That's why they call it 'fur'-niture.
(3) I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
(4) To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons/daughters who
are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don't speak clearly.
Remember, dogs and cats
are better than kids because they:

(1) eat less,
(2) don't ask for money all the time,
(3) are easier to train,
(4) normally come when called,
(5) never ask to drive the car,
(6) don't smoke or drink,
(7) don't want to wear your clothes,
(8) don't have to buy the latest fashions,
(9) don't need a gazillion dollars for college and
(10) if they get pregnant, you
can sell their children

But (while I love the definition of 'fur-niture'!), I'm not sure that my feline friend eats less than most kids. She NEVER comes when she's called (other than by the smell of tuna) and I wouldn't even attempt to train her (because she displays enough contempt for me already!)

Yes, Yesterday, paid £125.05 because our cat cut her paw and it was infected,
Treatment, medication, dressings & lamp-shade.

My cat speaks more clearly than most young teenage kids. She is must easier to understand and doesn't just grunt and scowl.

I had to take No.1 Son to get a lump cut off his back. He had an arm-wrestling match with the lampshade, it was off before I'd even got the basket back in the car...

The only complaint I have about pet owners is when they fail to control their dogs. No yammering, charging, or jumping up is all I really ask.

I saw a tv programme about dogs not long ago.- I have forgotten what it was and who presented it but one thing stuck in my memory. He said "Always remember when you have a dog in the house, you have a wolf". This may not be an exact quotation, but it was something like that, so I am a bit wary of dogs. Cats also can attack - I think there was a clip from youtube not long ago showing one attacking. However, having said that, they are both a great comfort and much more intelligent than we give them credit for. I know I would only have to start opening a tin and the cat would appear from wherever she was - could be upstairs - and sit there hopefully.
