My neighbours Bronze turkeys have hatched 6 poults. 4 are a yellowy mottled brown colour, & 2 are yellow with a tiny brownish lump on their heads. Can the sex of Bronze turkeys be determined by their colour? Could the lumps on the yellow ones be the beginnings of the snood of the male? Or are they just being optimistic, hoping that they've got 2 male & 4 female? Thanks.
No way of really telling until aobut three months... watch the breast feathers... the males will be all black while the females will begin to have white edging along those feathers... at least with ours hee in the U.S.
