A google search throw up examples like this but I don't know how good they are. Maybe you should stick to a well known insurer
I just tried Animal Friends as I insure my dogs with them...they don't do birds :0( E&L seem to be the only other ones with a decent albeit [IMO] high quote.
The comparison sites throw up silly prices [more than it cost me to insure a Great Dane].
I was hoping someone had personal experience.
It is always expensive to insure birds as, unlike mammals, they are extremely difficult to examine for abnormalities and existing hidden ailments. To get a good insurance price you may have to pay for many blood and tissue tests to rule out the possibility that the bird carries recognised ailments.
I thank you for all of your answers. I think I'm going to go with Pet Plan and fast!!! He is such a clumsy oaf and nearly broke a wing this morning trying to run round his cage :0/
http://www.cliverton.co.uk/pages/products.php They do bird insurance and have been specialist animal insurers for many years. They were formerly known as Dog Breeders Insurance (DBI).
