This reminds me so much of my cat (passed away some 10yrs now).
He was dominant alpha male of the area, weighed 14lbs in fighting trim. Nothing was allowed to interfere with his 'patch' full stop!
Someone actually tried to give me a vets bill for his GSD when the GSD ventured in to our front garden.
Not funny, the cat's claws could have seriously injured the dog.

Isn't that why they have them?...so they can defend themselves?
Besides-it was not a 'face-off'...the cat sorted things peacefully.. ;-))
