minimum depth of water for koi carp

I am having to move a large 18"Koi from its existing pond, I have been offered a pond for it to go to which is very large in size and netted but only 18" deep, I wonder if thats deep enough ?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.As sir,prize says a minimum of four feet don't forget Koi can grow to a fair old size and need plenty of room, especially in winter my own pond is oval about 25ft by 12ft and about 5ft deep at it's deepest. They need to be able well below any ice get in winter and I've never lost any fish in the winter
