funny 5 minutes

i have a west highland white terrior and every so often he will just run around barking trying to catch its tail and basicly just be mental for 5 minutes and we call it his funny 5 minutes do you know why he does this or what the cause is.thanx

My friend has a West Highland Terrier and he does the same.  He races round and round the house and then flops down in his bed and goes to sleep.

Maybe it's a breed thing!

Years ago I had a Shetland sheepdog who used to do exactly the same thing. I think its probably just their way of playing about and letting off steam. Very funny though, he used to have me stitches. :o)

I've got a Lowchen called Dizzy who does this, especially if I've just given her a bath...or mostly just for no reason at all.I suppose dogs have moods & feelings like we do, and sometimes you just gotta go bonkers for a bit!

we have two cats and a dog - they all have their strange moments that we call 'mad half hours' dont know why they do it but sooo funny to watch!!!

i have a bichon freise - he does ot too, when he's really happy. We all have to stand with our backs to the wall while he runs around the house! It's called the bichon buzz!
