Bird tables
25 Answers
our birds have a good supply of nuts, seed, fatballs hanging on a long pole in the back garden!
I'm sitting here wondering what type of bird table would be ok.
Hubbie is considering knocking one up himself -- Good idea?

i thought they'd be expensive to buy trim.
Dr filth, yep mustnt forget the edging round the edge, that is a must.
Will go in the shed tomorrow and find maybe an old wooden tea try that we've had for years stored away. Being sentimental we couldnt throw it away. That may do the trick . Thanks folks x

Some birds are ground feeders so it is possible to buy a small table that stands just a few inches from the ground though it seems as if you have a good variety of food "hanging" around do you really need a table? I don't have one but I hang all sorts of feeders and fatballs etc around the shrubs and trees and the birds seem to get by - the ground feeders pick up on the sunflower seed hearts that the other birds drop
I'm always putting out mashed potato, bacon rind and allsorts of mushy type stuff, and throw it at the bottom of the garden, but need the food a bit nearer to the house, so a table will be brilliant. Will get Hubbie started on it in the morning after breckie. Tea tray here we come + some little legs to stand it on lol

We got one of these last year. It goes together in minutes and those top hooks are great for any feeders you might have already.
