No, leave 'em alone, they're cute.
Red or Grey?
Question Author
Grey and yes they can be cute but not in the friggin flower bed/rockery ones just had a flower bulb scared the little blighter and it dropped it, now replanted put chilli and mace down on the flower beds.
Have you got a slow cooker?
Put a peanut feeder out for them, that'll keep em happy and off your flower beds.
Question Author
i have slow cooker but its on its last legs may well get a peanut feeder, or an educational toy to keep occupied!!!!
Educational Toy brilliant idea firewatch. They're clever little devils. Or you could get a dog, they'll keep the it amused for hours:-)
sorry to say nothing really keeps them away. Many years ago they emptied a whole chipping net of golf balls and buried them in the grass we only found out where they where when the grass died the next spring and we dug up the area.
Little blighters. We've had an electric fridge ruined by squirrels + a good food storage container. I used to love them , thought they were cute -- but cant stand them now
Peanut feeders will encourage them. I can promise you'll be forever filling the thing up, and the squirrels destroy them within days.
Make sure they can't get in to your loft - they can cause thousands of pounds worth of damage to your electrics and god knows what.

You can shoot squirrels that are on your property with an air rifle.

If you trap a squirrel it is illegal to release it in to the wild.

This is grey squirrels only, by the way

Grey squirrels don't hibernate.
Question Author
got to pop out in a mo to check the beds as the squizolas have been around alot and have to agree i think we are in for a bad winter :(
An idea from the wildlife people on TV the other day was chilli powder. The lady was showing how to mix it in with peanuts etc in feeders, because apparently sqidgers can't abide it and birds barely notice it. Could be worth sprinkling a bit round the the plants.
Question Author
chilli powder worked a treat but had a lot of rain the last 24 hours, so will re chilli tomorrow once i have been to have a go at the estate agents.
