why does my dog walk while he's pooing? How do I train him to do it in one spot?

I wish I knew Basil.  My old dog was always doing that.  I can only assume that he did not want to get his feet in it, that's what I told my son anyway.
try stopping him and standing him still when he is pooing and prasing him if he does it right and scold him if not

Mine makes me laugh. he backs up like a truck then does his buisness. I thought about getting fitted with 'dog reversing ' warning signals.
