Why does my freak of a cat prefer to drink the dirty water that gathers in a tub in the garden than the fresh stuff I put down in his clean bowl every day?

He thinks he is Star.....like his refusal to come in the house through the open back door. A human getting up to let him in is the only acceptable way.
We keep a bucket in the back garden for our three wolfies and an old concrete flower tub in the front garden, Keeva the pup loves to drink from this. Up in the wild garden they drink out of the old wheelbarrow.

We don't have water bowls in the house because they flood the place with water dripping of their beards, lol. I hasten to add that they can in and out to the water as and when they require it.
rain/pond/river water is natural & chemical free
Caspar shares the dogs water...he also shares the dogs food-seems its better than his own. He shouts as I get Sallys food ready-then tucks in.

Well it seems they are all a bunch of freaks. I'm sure he would drink the loo water if he could but I insist everyone keeps the lid down because I'm paranoid he'll fall into it. The same reason I don't let him wear a collar, I'm scared he'll strangle himself with all his climbing.

I won't take his fresh water away as he's indoors all day and I wouldn't want him to not have a drink if he wanted one but it does seem he prefers to just dump the bits of food he doesn't like in his water bowl.
