If moths are so attracted to the light, why do they only come out at night?

There is too much light in the daytime and so they can't direct themselves in terms of it.
They are nocturnal. Its not that they are attract3d to light per se, they navigate by it.
Not all moths are nocturnal; not all butterflys are diurnal. The difference is their antenna. Example Clothes moths fly around when I'm at work.
