birds in the morning

why do birds always sing really really loud in the mornings (usually about 5 am). i know they sing all day but not as loud as at 5 in the dam morning...(zzzzz)

5 am gingerflaps??  What time do they call that?  Where I live they're up & singing at 3.30 am & by 5 am they've got their washing on the line!!
