I imagine it is very possible with wolves, just a bit unlikely in the UK.

Wolf and dog are close enough genetically but foxes are too different although it might be possible in a lab the resultant offspring would be sterile
funniest cross I ever saw was a Jack Russell x Greatdane like a dane with thick stocky legs not sure which partner was which sex The JR component needed a step ladder

I was in the vet's waiting room a few months ago when a man came in with a large dog. A couple of people asked if it was a German Shepherd cross, and if so with what - the man said yes to the first, and to the second: a wolf. It was a gorgeous animal and very friendly, but you could definitely see the wolf in it.
I had a gorgeous crossbreed - gold, brown, white, with a fluffy bunny tail - his mother was a little black collie, and I have no idea who dad was.
It's amazing how people can be fooled - when anyone asked me his breed, I said he was a very rare German Rinderhund.
They oo-hed and aa-hed and believed me.

I think that the Scottish Wildcat is about the biggest predator in the UK.
Lottie - I know that there are people who breed wolves and they allow people to go and visit them. I love wolves - but am against the reintroduction of them into the UK. They wouldn't be safe from stupid humans.
I have Catus Moggius living with me. :-)
