We have stairs and may look after a greyhound for a while. Can a greyhound manage stairs?

When I got my lurcher Sally, she'd never seen stairs-let alone the inside of a house! I live in an upper storey flat-so she had to learn to navigate 2 flights of stairs outside, and one in my flat. I'd say it took several weeks for her to feel fully confident. Sometimes she just stopped-and I'd have to give her bottom a gentle push,or shift her legs for her! Now she goes flying down the stairs-generally trying to knock me or the cat over.
Unless you mean could a greyhound chew its way through stairs and I think the answer to that is Yes.

I hope you and your lodger get on well.
Thank goodness Sally doesn't chew stairs!!!

Just sofas......;-(

I know the dog and he is well brought up. The problem is that he is big and gangly but your comment has been a good help pastafreak. Nice to hear from you too wolfie.
Start him off using a lead, and guide him gently. They are such good dogs, and gentle words are good encouragement. Good luck-he'll be fine x
He'll be fine. The only problem wih leggy dogs climbing or descending stairs is when they are young and still growing . Then they can do themselves some damage to joints etc
A Dobermann can - he can knock you down on the way up and again on the way down.
