A trip to the vet

When I take my furry friends to the vet the vet comes out and calls the patients name when it is my appointment. I never thought anything of this until my friend took me up and laughed when the vet called "Frankie" instead of my surname.

What does your vet do?

I have just returned from a trip to the vet - Frankie was as good as gold. Two weeks ago his sister Merlin turned into a huge wild animal and started lashing out at any human in sight. This was after the vet called her "two sandwiches short of a picnic" - I just call her Princess Merlin the Stupid. Merlin is beautiful though - she doesn't need brains. :-)

I haven't taken my cat to the vet for yonks but I seem to remember him calling out 'Bailey' instead of my name.

Then took one look at him and decided he shouldn't even be looked at without sedation.

Mine says the pet's name and your surname. Which is fine until we took our pet mouse in called Socrates followed by our loooooooooooong surname and i'm holding a small box in my hand.

When I was coming out of the vet there was a chocolate labrador being called into the examination room - it raced into the room with its tail whirling round. I have seen dogs being dragged into the room but never one excited about going in.

Our vets surgery is quite small - three consulting rooms. It has just started charging for consultations and their prices are reasonable. Some of the vets are very very young looking. Makes me feel older than my 21 years. :-)

My vet just says Tigger or Blue. When I get the reminder letters for their yearly jabs they're addressed to their names with my surname after it.

Ours always uses the pets name followed by our surname.

dave - she is lovely. I think that she may be a multi-breed doggie. I would love a dog - my cats would not like a dog.

The vet gave up trying to decide what breeds she contains - "at least a Heinz" I think he said :)

Adopted a stray cat some years ago. She was called McGinty because every time my OH saw her hanging about the garden he's say "oh there's McGinty again". So McGinty she was which caused smiles at the vet.

It would appear that the person called Andrew thinks that we are all loopy. It is okay though - I have left him my two furry friends to him in my will. The cats are getting all my money left to them in a trust fund.

Our vets always call out the animal's name followed by the owner's surname, e.g. Bonzo Brown. It always makes everyone smile.

My vet calls out my dog's name. Once I took a hedgehog in that I'd found wandering in daylight, so though I'd get it checked out to make sure it was OK and when I went back to pick it up, the receptionist called out 'Ms chaptazbru, your hedgehog's ready'!! You should have seen the looks I got!
