cats/fleas?
31 Answers
I have 2 cats. Sons ankles were covered in bites, which looked to me like flea bites. So as one of cats likes his bedroom to sleep in(a box not son's bed!) I hoovered all his room, sprayed flea spray everywhere, and did both cats with Frontline. Also sprayed rest of house with flea spray. Son didnt get any bites for a coupld of days but is now covered all over lower legs, and 2 on torso. They are driving him totally mad. It has to be fleas, cant see what else it could be. ( have thoroughly checked for bed bugs and mattress is clean).
So can I try the cats with Frontline again even though I only did them 2 weeks ago?
Any other suggestions much appreciated!! Poor sons legs look awful.

There's a lot of evidence that Frontline doesn't work well anymore and you've probably got another load of eggs hatched since your first clear out. I'd also say that none of the off-the-shelf flea sprays work either.
Hi Smow, Have you groomed your cats and checked if they have fleas (brown specs like coal dust, if so put them on a damp tissue and if these specs leave brown smudges its fleas) - if not and your cats are clear, chances are there are probably a few lurking in the bedroom, they wont bite your cat but will bite your son, they cant live off human blood though. Good luck.
Smow, Advocate didn't suit my guys (and yes, fleas are getting immune to Frontline). We swear by Stronghold now, it deals with some of the worms as well.
One of my old cats had fleas, they didn't appear until she left - they lie in the carpet waiting for warm blood to walk by, then they hatch and jump.
Make sure you hoover well under the front edge of all the chairs and sofas - that's where ours were lurking.
Don't dose the cats again, it's much too soon, and the fleas aren't on the cats - they've dropped off and laid eggs, it's the new fleas which are biting your son.
