There is tablets you can give to ease the pain - but he appears to have found a more natural way to ease it - at 19 I would imagine he does not have long left and the this lovely hot guy is easing his way.

I am an animal lover as I'm sure are all of you who have bothered to comment on this thread. This is a beautiful story of the love between a dog and its owner. But the story says that they stay in the water until the dog starts to shiver with the cold and then he lifts it out. So now we have a cold, wet, shivering dog which is wide awake and in pain.
The photos are beautiful but the reality isn't so good. Ought not the owner to be thinking about releasing his beloved pet from pain permanently?

It doesn't mention it in the above link, but that doesn't seem to be the full article that was printed the other day, in which it did mention about the dog getting cold and shivering, also the bit about the donations for the dogs treatment seems to be missing aswell.
Still a moving story though!

Yes it is missing from the above clip D97, but I've just found a fuller article. I've copied the couple of lines where it's said about the dog getting cold and also a link to the full article for you Helen.

I don't think I'd do it unless it was in a heated swimming pool. It's lovely that people have donated money for the dog to have laser joint treatment and they say this is helping but I hope Mr Unger makes the right decision at the right time. And please don't think I'm knocking him because I'm not. I wish all people treated their dogs as well as he does.
