blimey - even the head of the review whose scientific findings they have supposedly based this culling plan on says it is a crazy idea, will make little or no difference and won't be measurable anyway

The limited cull about to start is a trial to see if the method is of any use.
The final decision will be made in December I believe.

Cuddly little calves and cows, shoota? Is that a serious concern? You do drink milk, I take it? And what do you think happens to the cows when they aren't economic? Do you think we let them live out their lives as pets?

Of course cows get bovine TB. Vaccinating them would not be economic, if practicable.But blaming the badgers seems short-sighted and culling them unlikely to eradicate the condition.

Sorry I haven't got back until now but had a friend visit this morning and he's just left. Very pleased so many of you have signed, thank you, and I've just got round to doing it myself. I see my link in the OP is working now, perhaps it was the rush of ABers and others after the appeal by Brian May this morning that knocked it over and out.
Kiki, a particular thank you to you for the link you posted of the major players in the UK for the conservation of our wildlife pleading on behalf of the badgers. When people like Attenborough speak out you would think the powers that be would take note.
I'd love to see some more signatures on here before the end of the day. X

I am 63 years old. In my long life I have never clapped eyes on a badger (apart from in the Rupert the Bear strips), nor do I have any wish to do so in the near future. If the culling of these creatures is seen as a necessary step to preventing the human race from contamination, then so be it.
