Any recommends on getting rid of the local fox killing our chickens. The chickens are left to roam around the courtyard of the stable farm we live on and we would rather not have to enclose them but now the fox has a taste for them we will have to do something. The fox needs dealing with but obviously normal garden deterrants won't stop him coming into a farmyard.
If you don't want to enclose the chickens... and as the fox now has a taste for them and knows where to find an easy meal... there seems to be only one answer... BANG! BANG! (I don't know if it is legal to kill foxes - are they classed as 'vermin'?...
An obvious question is; do you have a dog? That could be a relatively simple answer if the fox cannot be killed. Problem with killing the fox is that he's probably going to replaced by yet another. The dog(s) should be able to be left outside during the night (perhaps being able to get int the barn or shed... Luck withyour problem!
