Hedgehogs
24 Answers
I've discovered I have a little hedgehog who likes to come and have a drink from the bowl of water I leave in the garden for the cat.
But, I have big fences all around my garden which are mostly flush to the ground, save one part that has a gap of about 2 inches.
Can hedgehogs squeeze themselves down like mice do?

We also have a hedgehog house but none of them have chosen to live in it yet. We do get one fox that likes to sleep in the dog kennel (our dog never uses it) even in the daytime sometimes!
If it is a teeny tiny hedgehog you will need to keep an eye on it. They start hibernating mid November and if they are less than 700g they are too little to hibernate. I had a couple like this but I only noticed them because they were out in the daytime (which is bad). I ended up taking them to the local vet who looked after them but you could take yours to twiggywinkles.
