Would Wild Birds Eat Grapes If They Were...

My cat has injured a baby sparrow.
I've left him in the garden alone and brought the cats in.
Mum is tweeting like crazy but not approaching the little thing which has had some of it's feathers plucked out and appears to have a broken leg.
The baby is not answering back either.
What should I do if mum decideds to abandon it?
Is there any way I could help it? I don't want to leave it out there tonight if she hasn't come for it before then.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to attach a bell on your cats collar as this would be a help in alerting adult birds, but the babies are helpless having no flight feathers - so its a case of the 'luck of the draw'.
This RSPB site will give you more information on helping injured birds.
Well I left baby under a bush and mum came for it but just kind of hopped around it and tweeting like mad.
This morning I cannot see the bird but mum is still tweeting like crazy.
I imagine that she's looking for it but can't find it. We have many cats in our area so maybe one of them got it.
My cat used to bring home mice and birds every week. So we attached a bell to her collar. Last week she caught her first bird since having her bell put on, so it's definitely made a difference. However she got this baby too but I'm sure because it was a baby. :(
