We have a an English Bulldog puppy in our family, she's about 17 weeks old now. All she wants to do is play with other dogs when she meets them but they don't want to play with her and in fact they nip her. She's in their face, won't give up, won't recognise any 'go away' or 'get off' signals and just keeps ploughing forward and is relentless and stubborn. Even though she wriggles up to them on her stomach in a friendly manner she still gets the brush off. Other EBD's are the only dogs that will play with her and they play really roughly and fall down with exhaustion and then start all over again. Other owners have told us this has happened to them as well and reckon EBDs are too rough and boisterous for other dogs and have a high pain threshold so don't recognise when they are hurting others. Having said all that she's very sweet and funny, always happy, and like no other dog we have ever had in the family.
