I just read on another thread about your missing dog.

As your pup is chipped there is a very good chance of getting it back.... you need to make him too hot to handle right now, go and register on there and your area helper will tell you what you need to do, there will be hundreds of members willing to help you with a poster campaign etc

fab...she is back ! Thanx so much Lisa for the link. The chip was circulated to lost dogs web sites & dog warden was informed. Police & council had no reports logged. They were first port of call in the past? I cant give you best answer coz u asked the question but am very grateful, thanx

The rule of thumb is that the dog will have to go to a vet at some point so a chipped dog should/will be checked its chip upon registering at a new vet.
If the dog has been stolen then the chances are is will be sold on to some unsuspecting 'punter' who will then take it too the vet, but like I said it has to be made too hot to handle.... posters,contact all local vets etc.
Thats the best thing about Doglost, they will make sure every angle is covered!
