if you want the gravel cleaning then the best thing to do is what i have which is get an under gravel cleaning system. This just consists of a white plastic sheet with holes in that you attach tubes to. then you put an air tube with an air stone to the end which pulls the water through the gravel. It is very cheap to buy and has the added effect of keeping the water moving. The box will prob explain a lot better than i have.

the hoover type ones are ok, but i have a tall tank so the bag that collects the dirt is still in the water so i steer clear of them. in my opinion the hoover types dont work very well. (by the way, the hoover types work very near the same as under gravel cleaners as you need to put an air tube inside it to pull the water up through the bag)
