I wish i could say there is an easy way out of this i had my first pony for 5 years and it was hard to let her go but i would say dont be saelfish let someone else enjoy it as much as you did and that way your new horse can have all your love and not just half even though she will always have a place in your heart for her you have got to let go you can't keep and loan out every horse you have or you will have loads try buy a new horse before you sell her it will ease the pain it may seem hard at first but then you will grow to love your next one just as much but this doesnt mean forgetting her please let me know how you are getting on and keep me informed
umm see I do wonder if horses actually want to be kept busy, the ones I see in the New Forest, where I live seem happy to laze about and do nothing. If you haven't the facilities to keep two horses and want a bigger one then your old friend does have to move on though.
