We have just got a cat from an elderly lady who can no longer look after it properly. The cat is 7 yo ans is normaly let out at night. With moving the cat away from its usual suroundings we are unsure when we will be able to let it out of the house.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Sounds a rather old fashioned idea, letting the cat out at night,it's worth getting a litter tray for her/him,you don't want "surprises"in the morning.Cats will try to find their way back to where they used to live, and you really don't want that. You could buy a plug in called Feliway, this can help calm situations. Is he/she neutered/spayed? Has the elderly lady been using Frontline,or some spot on to keep the fleas away? Good luck.
