Dog Expert Advice Needed Please

I am interested in what temprement you good expect from a husky/collie cross.

What are the pro's and cons of both breeds?

Collies I have experience with Huskies none.

I know! I have no idea how big they get, but it can't be much bigger than a Pomerian can it? or can it?!

A really lovely dog I had when I was growing up was a Border collie cross Rough collie. She was like a more compact Lassie :)

I've got two Alaskan Malamutes which are the loveliest dogs you could ever wish for and easy enough to train as long as you are really firm and consistant when they are pupppies. They are such lovers of being adored that they soon cop onto what annoys you and what pleases you and behave themselves pretty easily but you really must be firm. Both of mine can be safely let off the lead and recall well but again it's a matter of patience and perseverence and huge rewards coupled with firmnesss that leads to that as lots of people do have trouble with them running off. They ideally need another companion animal for entertainment but can be really lazy as well (my dog is very active but my bitch is a super lazy couche fiend). With a collie cross I think you could have trouble as most collies I've met are pretty hyper and crossed with a potentially hyper husky could be a handful.

Ab Editor - its pictures like this that encourage people to crossbreed different breeds that should never be crossed - how on earth can something with the body of a Pom be expected to manage with the activity level of a Husky? Why would you breed such a cross? Both Poms and Huskies are beautiful breeds in their own rights, and its a shame that people are cashing in on the 'cute' factor and making money from ignorant people who just buy a dog because it looks cute. Where is the rescue back up should things go wrong? The breeders are not likely to take them back if they are breeding for money, and there are no breed rescues for most of these 'designer' crosses (except Labradoodles and Cockerpoos who are now experiencing a very big rescue problem!). And what about health testing? Do people know what health tests these different breeds should have? Pedigree dog breeders get loads of stick but the sort of people who breed these crosses rarely bother to health test or try to con people that they don't need testing because they are healthier!

what lankeela said. The other issue is that crossbreeds are not "stable reproducers" In a litter you are likely to get a variety of types and conformations, some of which might not even be viable. Basically you might have to breed a lot of pups before you get a cute one.
