I wondered what other peoples' dogs (or cats) like to eat other than dog food.

My dogs love frozen peas and mixed veges especially in the Summer.  They like raw carrot and apple.  Conversely one of my dogs (brother and sister) wont eat pork products.  We like to think he's jewish and his name is Jabez!  They like malt (the thick syrupy stuff).  Jabez loves vegemite sandwiches or toast and they both really like peanut butter.

Found out this weekend that my dog, Chloe, also loves peanut butter.  Also loves, cheese, avocado, marmite (yes!) and loads more.

That's funny that your dog doesn't like pork products...very amusing.

Oh yes, and cheese, they love cheese too!  They don't like slimey things like avocado or banana or oranges for that matter.
Pork is extremely bad for all animals, he's probably just quite bight and knows not to eat it.
My dog will eat cheese and more cheese!!
He loves a raw carrot and will eat grapes and apple.
He willingly licks out the remains of any yogurt pots and ice cream cartons.

Dairy products are definitely high on their lists of yummy things.  He is pretty darn smart actually Jaxson unlike his sister!
My sister's dog has no particular favourites,he just loves anything your'e eating!
One of my cats loves toast and my old cat loved tinned tomatoes
parker loves ice cubes..

My dog loves ice cubes in the hot weather when we're having ice lollies too (because I won't give him sweet stuff). I enjoys a banana, but won't eat any other fruit. However, he enjoys vegetables and dairy products; goes mad for natural yoghurt or cheese.

Unfortunately, my dog is partial to flowers, so I can never grow any in my garden because all I'm left with is leaves and stalks, which doesn't look too good, so I tend to grow leafy plants rather than flowers. Not as much colour, but at least they don't get eaten.

That is SO funny!!!!!  I've never heard of a dog doing that before.
my dog loves Vindaloo curry, we found out when she raided our bin one night whilst we were in bed. We dont give it to her as it goes straight through her but she gets possessed when we have it and we have to hind the take out trays. never known a dog to like spicy food like her. She also loves ice cream, never mind the kids, my dog is always first in the queue.
shrimps, apple juice, turmeric, fresh mint (bitten off the plant in the patio), rotten eggs, wax, and most favourite of all...

Hey Freespirit that reminds me that Jabez went nuts over a pan in my parents dishwasher that Mum had cooked curry in.  Darling Husband and I hate curry so he'd never had it here.

Trillipse does the mint make your dog's breath smell nice?

My 2 Dogs both eat absolutley anything. I think it stems from them both being strays when they were under 2 years.

Some foods they aren't keen on, such as banana and raw onion and peppers, but they will still give them a try.

Past delicacites have included Passports, Cheques, and their own collars.

No, I have to use a bottle of bleach for that...

Not ideal, i admit.

My Megan is not fussy at all, will try most things, but like a lot of others on here is very partial to a piece of mature cheddar.
Hello everyone, I was reading your answers and saw something that concerned me. SHANEYSTAR said that
their dog likes to eat grapes. I just wanted to let everyone know of a few foods to NEVER give your pets.

Grapes and Raisins: Grapes and raisins can cause kidney failure in dogs. As little as a single serving of raisins can
kill a dog.

Onions: Onions destroy red blood cells and can cause anemia.

Chocolate: Chocolate can cause seizures, coma and death. Bakers chocolate is the most dangerous.

Coffee, Coffee grounds, tea and tea bags: Drinks/foods containing caffeine cause same symptoms as chocolate

Macadamia Nuts and Walnuts: cause weakness, muscle tremor and paralysis. Nuts are not good for dogs in general, lead to bladder stones.
PEANUT BUTTER. is OK, However- always use Salt/Sugar free ORGANIC Peanut butter (sugar encourages cancer growth) free . Excessive fat can cause pancreatitis.

Bones: Cooked bones can splinter and damage a dogs internal organs.

Tomatoes: Tomatoes can cause tremors and heart arrhythmias. Tomato plants and the most toxic, but tomatoes are also unsafe.

Avocados: The fruit, pit and plant are all toxic. They can cause fluid accumulation in the chest, abdomen and heart.

Nutmeg: Nutmeg can cause tremors, seizures and death

Apples, Cherries, Peaches PITS and similar fruit are great for your dog - HOWEVER, the seeds of these fruits contain cyanide, which is poisonous to dogs as well as humans. Unlike humans, dogs do not know to stop eating at the core/pit and easily ingest them. It can also become lodged in the intestines and kill the dog in 24 hours with no warning.

Raw eggs: Raw eggs can cause salmonella poisoning in dogs. Dogs have a shorter digestive tract than humans and are not as likely to suffer from food poisoning, but it
