I've been using this for my GSD, it's a seaweed derived calcium supplement, is there any reason why this should be more effective than any other calcium supplement - is the seaweed origin of any relevance?

Don't know much about dog biology, but I do with birds. Many vitamins/trace elements can only be utilised if the minerals to 'work' with the additive is present in the system. Calcium, for instance, can only be used by the system if there is enough vitamin E present. Without vitamin E the calcium needed is drawn from the skeleton.

Not sure if this is the same as in mammals, but I am sure there are fortunes being spent by well meaning owners who are paying through the nose for stuff that doesn't benefit the animal.
I was wondering if it had iodine in it?probably wrong lol.
Kelp (seaweed) is a good source of iodine and iron, and helps poor pigmentation and coat condition. Take care feeding it in the warm weather though as it can make a dog overheat.

Thanks, seems to be the calcium that is the main thing, not sure about the iron / iodine content http://www.chemeyes.co.uk/#!coming-soon/c254u-
