Fireworks Again!

My German Shepherd keeps wanting to go outside to see what all the noise is about. I let her out and she lies on the patio watching them and occasionally barks at the really loud ones. I am so lucky that neither she, nor Tilly are trying to climb the walls.
Those of you with animals who are frightened must be having a terrible time as the firework season seems to be much longer this year.

It's illlegal to sound your car-horn after dark except in emergency.
We can't take liquids, which includes semi-solid emulsions like toothpaste in hand-luggage aboard a 'plane.
At a time when we are meant to be on our guard against terrorists, the sale of incendiary and explosive chemicals is given free range - such nonsense.
I think the whole charade should be banned throughout the year with the exception of civil displays using light-up but quiet fireworks.
Is it beyond parents' imagination to arrange alternative entertainment for their children or do the adults really enjoy it most?
