are you sure about the start letter C? There doesnt appear to be any european warbler beginning with C that is 11 letters. There are several 11 letter ones but not beginning with C. Alternatively are you sure its 11 letters. If it were ten it would be Chiffchaff which is a very distinctive and very repetitive song.

It wouldn't be 'our' cetti would it?......

Cettia cetti - Cetti's warbler.

possibly- though although the song is distinctive it is hardly repetitive. Explosive more like!

Is it on here carlito? (scroll down to the next page):

I did look back on that link & it was ok. I looked at it again & it showed pop-up errors. Never mind I tried - sorry!
its european!! Still- that list gives lots of good memories of birding in the states!!

I've just counted  56 warblers listed for  Britain and Europe ( could be more)  and just 2 beginning with C.

As much as I love Robby's Cettia Cetti it has to be burnhal's  answer of  Chiffchaff.  It's the only one that fits the description. In fact three or more chiffchaffing together can drive you nuts - so distinctive that it's usually the first song that everyone can pick out straight away. Bit puzzled about the 11 letters though.

Hi cetti! Maybe it's chiffchaffs then (or should it be chiffchavs?! The plural of some birds never sounds quite right).  Are you a night owl because you always seem to be on here late?

It's Nightjar spotting tonight so will be even later!
