What are the signs that a fox leaves in the garden if it is entering it on a regular basis

well highly stinky poo is one
the other is you can usually smell thier urine as it is really potent.
The other two answers are correct up to a point. they'll also bring in and leave bit and bobs they've taken from other gardens, toys, bones, hats, all manner of things, you might also have something small go missing from your own garden.

Yes to all the above & my neighbour found a sausage poking out of the ground that they had brought.  gave her a bit of a funny turn!!  ;-)

Sometimes if they have a regular access point you may be able to see discolouration on a wall, or a path that disappears under (or over) a fence.
