My uncle has recently taken up riding and as he was coming up to his 75th birthday we clubbed together and bought him a horse. He was absolutely devastated when a week later the horse died of a heart attack. The question is, of course should we try to get another one straight away? Has this ever happened to you animal lovers and what did you do?

thanks

Hi sglazier, what a rotten thing to happen.I think when an animal you love dies,it really is a personal choice whether or not to get "a replacement" straight away. For some people,it's the right course, but for others,it really isn't.I would definetely check with your uncle to see how he feels first of all.
