Very warm over the past couple of days and nary a bird to be seen in the garden. Dull and drizzly today and I have a collared dove, loads of starlings, blackbirds, blue tits and a solitary chaffinch. Welcome home my feathered friends.

What about the humble sparrow ? Have they become endangered ? It's months & months since any have visited my garden, I wonder if those pesky magpies have scared them off.

The sparrows arrived later whirly, after the others had disappeared. Also saw a solitary wren clinging on to a hanging basket.
