Bang, bang round here last night, no warning, luckily cats were in, but hence one terrified Campbell cat for rest of evening, like a little rag doll and needing lots of cuddles.

Not yet but it won't be long I'm sure.
Yes, they're in action already.

Just wish I had some idea of when the 'fireworks season' was likely to start. Diwali isn't for another 11 days and we're nowhere near 5th November.
Fireworks are on sale at a lot of places. What a price they are now. Wow, I'd need a Wonga loan to be able to buy a few. What happened to sticking a rocket in a milk bottle ?
the can be bought online all year round. in a city near us there is also an all year round firework shop :(
Nope, we wont get any either!
nothing so far. I like to watch a good firework display, but the odd one or two going off just pees me off!
Yes, some going off last night. Not usually this early. They are a damn nuisance !

We had a Rocket last night, or it could have been a Distress Flare out in the Estuary, very pretty whatever it was!
I'd never get my cats into one of those....we just invest in lots of Feliway spray.
What is the reason for these displays of fireworks? I thought that Nov. 5th. was your big night for them.

The word 'Idiots' springs to mind Stuey!
Yeah it is, stuey, but Hallowe'en is coming up, people will set off fireworks as soon as they go on sale in the shops. It's no longer confined to Nov 5 or the nearest weekend, as it was when I was a child.
No fireworks yet and I don't expect there will be.
Why Talbot? I didn't expect any last night, but got a shock when heard them.
I'm on the banks of the river Rhine.
We have not had any round here, we tend to get them for about a week before and after the 5thNov.
Ah! So it's merely a spontaneous uprising of a few malcontents wishing to ejaculate in a most profligate manner a horrendous colourful cacophony into the quiet of the English e'en-tide. Some people have no consideration.
Vulcan they do have quite a high success rate. I know a couple of dogs whose owners use them and are thrilled to bits with them. They are quite tight and give the dog a sense of security. They are very expensive though for what they are; I wouldn't think it would be that hard to make something yourself that would work just as well. I was looking at them this morning with bonfire night looming and Pets at Home have 20% off (£28 instead go £35).
