Sick Cat

There are rotten people in this world. My cat is at the vet. The vet says he is bleeding in the stomach and most likely has been kicked by someone. He is having an operation now.

There are lots of worries among cat owners around here about the large number that are suddenly going missing. This was the lead story in our local newspaper yesterday:

Yes Chico, there are a lot of cats going missing in my area too. We often get leaflets through the letterbox to "please search outbuildings " etc. Notices are always to be seen pinned on the trees lining the streets.
I don't have a cat but it's a real worry for those who do. Keep them indoors with a litter tray I say. It's not safe on the streets.

My 5 cats would go ballistic if I tried to keep them inside, Janbee!

I'm really not looking forward to next week when four of them will be terrified by a trip to the vets (for neutering) and then can't be allowed outdoors for the next few days. It will be horrid for them and for me :(

The vet has just phoned. He had a ruptured spleen and he couldn't save him.

I am really sorry to hear that Brinjal/ I hope you cat will be ok. I have a cat myself although she is an indoor one but I cant believe that someone could do something so evil to an animal. I am praying for you and your cat.

Brinjal, I am so sad I could cry. Your poor cat, what a vile thing to have happened to him. The sad fact is that some people just hate cats and take pleasure in being cruel to them - at least you did your best for your boy, and he didn't die under a hedge somewhere, where you would never have found him.
