Country pursuits

I really fancy taking up a countryside sport but can't decide which one, so am looking for ideas. Unfortunately, hunting is banned so that's out. Grouse shooting appeals, but is very expensive I've heard. Fishing seems a little boring. Ferreting could be interesting, but I've heard they can be quite smelly and bite. Anyone know anything about falconry?

The thought of sitting there in the middle of nowhere surrounded by peace, quiet and glorious countryside and watching nature do its work is awesome. Catching a fish by pitting your wits against nature is a bonus. Boring ???.....never |
