My kitten is continually hungry, and asking for food, is she just trying it on? I give her half a sachet or a little under, in the morning around nine, she is hungry again at lunchtime, I try to leave it until around three oclock and give her another third of a sachet. Then around seven another third, I try and stretch that out if I can and then another third of a sachet around eleven pm, so around two pouches a day. I really feel this is too much and wonder if she has worms. She is growing and putting on weight. She has Advocate flea treatment once a month, does this include all the wormers she needs? She is seven months now , thanks all.
I'm not familiar with Advocate Flea treatment, but I think it is likely that a Flea Treatment would prevent worms.
You might need a worm treatment as well.
Many others here are much more expert than me and I'm sure will answer you soon.
I use Advocate flea treatment on my cats and it does prevent one specific worm (should know which but don't) but not others and a separate wormer is required as well. I've been aware before that you're concerned about how much she's eating. as I suggested before, why not go for a check over at the vets, they will confirm if her weight is concerning plus give you a decent worming treatment.
If she uses a litter tray, have a look at her stools to see if there are any signs of anything that looks like either a thread of cotton or a grain of rice - if there is then that's a sign of worms.
If you're at all concerned about her food intake/weight or worms - please visit the vet to put your mind at rest.
I suggest she's not eating enough if she's continually asking for food - half a sachet's only a couple of mouthfuls.
We use Stronghold on the boys, I can't stand the smell of Advocate - that protects against many worms but they still need a roundworm tablet from the vet once a year.
Ring the vet if you are worried, but I'd feed more. My guys always had a pouch in the morning and another at 5pm, right from when they were kittens.
PS - you are rather making a rod for your own back if she gets used to being fed four times a day. Twice is better, IMO - if you ever have to leave her with anyone, twice is acceptable for a catsitter to come in, not 4 times.
