LOOKING FOR A DOG TRAINING CLASS IN WEST YORKSHIRE, I FOUND A LOCAL WEBSITE ADVERTISING SUCH CLASSES......DESPITE NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS AND E-MAILS, THERE WAS NO REPLY......THEN, A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE THE CLASSES......A PHONE CALL......THE CLASSES WERE ON, THE FIRST CLASS WAS WITHOUT THE DOGS (???)....AND THE FULL PRICE OF THE COURSE WAS TO BE PAID IMMEDIATELY ON THE DAY......
SMELLS RATHER IFFY TO ME......
Many training cIasses ask you to go without your dogs on their induction nights so you can have the course expIained to you without the hassIe of trying to keep a IiveIey puppy or unruIy dog under controI. As for paying, I never charged apart from the amount on the night, but I know many courses have to be paid in fuII because so many drop out and if a haII is hired it has to be paid for. Nothing unusuaI about it, just not the way I wouId conduct a training scheme.
When i took my boys to puppy classes 8 years ago, that was how it was set up, I would be careful though, not because it might be a scam but because the classes proved to be totally unsuitable for my dogs and did them more harm than good....and of course no refunds :(
Do you know anyone who could reccommend a class to you? or maybe ask to watch a class from this course and sign up for the next course if its appropriate.
