Wildwood. Thank you. I DO HAVE HIM HOME!!!! I spent the morning sitting on the floor crying and cuddling him..... my husband put him in the car and I gave him a last little kiss ..... I came indoors, and thinking I have to be sensible and positive, cleared all his stuff away. I threw his bed and bedding in the trailer ready for a tip run, and his feeding bowls and toys in the bin, and then waited for my poor, sad, husband to return - what a rotten job he'd had. I couldn't believe my eyes when the car arrived and who should be peering out of the window but HIM - an injection later and with some new medication!! The vet said it might be only a few days or it could be longer, but HE is not in pain and, even though HE is a big dog and very elderly for a big dog (14), his quality of life is such that it's well worth trying a bit longer. We are so happy - I've retrieved all his stuff and spent the afternoon disinfecting that which has been in the bin - and he's munched down a big dish of fresh cod and rice so HE seems to be very happy too. :o)
