we have a 2 yr old female chihuahua , dont like ythe word " *** "

shes my daughters and we want to buy her a boy dog, would the 2 fight ? if i do buy her an extra dog i plan on putting the 2 of them together at night into a large dog cage in the wifes kitchen , they have a massive garden to play in.

just that concern if they would fight or not ? what about mating , would they mate together if the male pup grew up with the female dog ?

I have rescue dogs and work full time hc4361.

DD have you considered the cost of the vet for a breeding ***? the extra costs in food and comfort, the cost of worming the pups and innoculations etc etc etc?
DD. No disrespect but I don't think its justification to purchase another dog because your daughter wants one. I'd like a private jet, but I know it's not practical , my garden isn't big enough.
You say the first dog has destroyed you x wife's house, that's cos she's bored being left all day, another dog will not solve this.

More walks and attention on the her would be better.
I meant a rescue puppy (not adult) rather than forking out for a pedigree puppy. Don't think of breeding puppies as a way to make money either.

oh, ff s !!! so my daughter cannot have 2 small chihuahua dogs ? in a big house in a big garden ? she does take her dog to park most days and it gets her something to do. my sister has 2 small dogs and cages them together overnight with no problems.

such a simple small question has turned into such a headache , should have just googled it...i mean theyre chihuahuas for god sake not americn pitbulls .
Why bother asking, DD? You asked if they can be caged together and I gave my honest and valid opinion - no they shouldn't be. But you already know the answer you want because your sister does it, so why bother asking?

Its not just a case of getting another dog - you are talking about breeding them!! how is that fair on the dogs or your daughter.

Who is going to train the dog? Your ex wife is ill do you think she needs the extra stress.

Its not you that looks after the dogs, you complain that you are not working who is going to pay the vets bills?
Indeed DD. You make the decision.
DD
It's not really your decision, it's for your ex to decide alone and putting pressure on her is wrong.

How would you like it if your ex turned up at your home with a kitten for you?
I will be forwarding a copy of this to the RSPCA as it shows Intent. Hopefully they can track you.
Relax people, it's just another chapter in an ongoing tale of everyday folk.

Hot dogs. :)
Introducing a new dog can be problematic, as there will be an issue with the green-eyed monster ! I had thought of getting another Yorkie about 5 years ago, but Little Willy would probably eat it !

But if they didn't fight, and even if they did, they would still probably mate. If you don't want hoards of cute little pups, you might have to consider spaying the girl.
Mikey - he does want pups though - he thinks he is going to make a mint selling them!!!
What does your ex wife think about this idea? Given she's the one taking on the burden of a second dog?

Is she not moving house soon? Is this really the time to be taking on a puppy?

What is the real motivation for having a second dog? As I recall your ex wife doesn't work so why does the current dog require the company of another canine?

She is also undergoing investigation for lump in her breast. Hope all is well with her in that respect, DD.
Eccles, DD has said in this thread that his wife is out at work all day
Where is that stated HC?
Sorry, Eccles, I'm seeing things that aren't there, but DD does say:

" the female chihuahua needs a playmate, i think she gets bored all day in the house on her own."
