I didn't vote for the Robin. :-(
It's a bit Christmassy. I prefer the kingfisher.
the bald eagle for me....
I did vote the Robin in the original poll, but I know a few were disappointed.
Signed. I don't really know which other bird it could be.

I voted for the robin because I see a robin all year round in my garden and he cheers me up every single time!

Sadly I've never seen a Kingfisher or a Bald Eagle :-(

The robin is quintessentially British though. I receive christmas cards from people in Australia with the robin on them. The only other bird that I would think is typically British is the barn owl.
The results were interesting

1st Robin
2nd Barn owl
3rd Blackbird
4th Wren
5th Red kite
6th Kingfisher
7th Mute swan
8th Blue tit
9th Hen harrier
10th Puffin
I was about to sign but I am not a British citizen now, so I am not allowed to sign.

Don't like birds the scare me so I'd go for a ferret to be on the bank notes
I`m surprised the Puffin is on that list.

I thought the Robin was already our National Bird since early last year.
I love robins (our new, young one has just put in an appearance in our garden), but I would go for the wren as a national bird. Small, but punchy. Robin would be a close second.

//As you may recall, over a year ago you placed your vote for Britain’s National Bird that eventually led to the mighty Robin being crowned as our National Bird.

Well, the story didn't end there.

We now have to get the British Government to officially ordain the Robin as Britain’s National Bird.//

I love the wrens too and they would come a close second, but they had their turn on the farthings! Remember that anyone? That's recognition indeed, now lets do it for the chirpy robin!
