Alfie underwent extensive bowel surgery on Thursday but seemed to pull through. Last night the vet encouraged us to leave him there another night as he wasn't eating or drinking.
My ex had a call just after 4am today to say that Alfie had passed away in his sleep. The night nurse was with him when he passed away.
I was totally floored by the news. He was coming to me for Christmas and he has presents under the tree. I only bought him a toy yesterday.
So sorry to hear this news,i know exactly how you feel,i lost my little cat on 14th Nov-my 80th birthday! She was a rescue cat,i only ever had rescues,i'd had her for over eighteen and a half years.x
NoM so sorry to hear this. We've lost two Dogs in the last year, it's never easy. You've just got to look back on the good times, of which I'm sure there were many and tell yourself you gave him the best life possible. Time will make it less painful but you'll never forget him.
My poor pusscat died this time last year. I had to go to work the next morning and put a smile on my face and carry on. When I finished work I just cried and cried. That is the problem with animals - you out live them and you say you will never put yourself through that again but you will because they give you so much pleasure.
Hi all. Sorry for taking so long to reply. I'm apologise for not replying to you all individually but I would like to thank you all for your kind words.
I've washed his favourite pink pig and I've cuddled up to it every night. It's going to be a difficult Christmas. X
