Today is the first time I've had a chance to switch sides and using the laptop ( iPad doesn't have the necessary) i hit Cntl + 5 together ....the laptop did nothing but when I checked, the iPad is sorted ....no problem guessing where I am now !! Repeated the action several times with the laptop, still no joy .....any ideas please

You've not actually told us the nature of the problem that you're hoping to solve!

If it's the one of overlapping text (or similar), are you pressing Ctrl and F5 (rather than just '5') together?

ctrl and "f5" seekz, the function key at the top of your keyboard.

ctrl and - will reduce the zoom level if you desire to do so.

Morning guys ....Chris yes the prob is the overlapping text etc and yes I pressed the two together and nowt has happened ...repeated several times, switched everything off, threw the cat at it ....still no results ! Obviously doing something wrong but .....

And how come it fixed the iPad instead ? Just a trivia question

I suspect Mr Ed has done some ipad repairs at their end Seekz.

The reason for overlapping text on your laptop is it's using "cached" files to help load AB, so, after the big change it is load old stuff with new stuff.

What browser do you use, there are a few was of deleting cached files.

Hamburger (three lines, top right) > Options > Privacy > Clear All Current History > Clear Now.

Absolutely not, 1oz ....you can buy one in Adelaide for about $40.00 ....no way anyone could get their mouth round it ! Guaranteed indigestion afterwards ! :))

You may have to log on to sites that used to automatically keep you logged in.

Guys ...I'm sorry to run out on you but have to go see a girl about some money ....getting new car next week as poor old Vienta is ready for the scrap heap ...no comments on female drivers please, I haven't been picked up for speeding in ...errr....well a little while at least !

I wouldn't have any worries about deleting everything there. (Indeed, my browser is configured to do just that whenever I close it). However, if you're worried, deselect everything except 'Cache' between 'Clear All Current History' and 'Clear Now'.

Not just the file cleaning part but also the registry cleaning bit.

The technical press generally agree that so-called 'registry cleaners' are best avoided. However the one product which does get a cautious welcome from many of them is, indeed, CCleaner and I've used it myself occasionally.

I still lke to keep it for (hopefully) sorting out problems that nothing else can fix though. For everyday cleaning up of web traces I prefer to use FIWW:
