Caught a mouse last night in the garden. Assumed that's the job done. But then a friend has said to keep laying the trap for a week or so as I'll catch many more!
Do mice live in groups then? I assumed they potter about by themselves?
Tilly, I have two terriers and the mouse / mice have been driving them mad, all they want to do is sniff the mouse holes and not come in. So I thought a humane trap will mean I can catch them and relocate them.
Therefore the mice get a new lease of life and my dogs aren't tormented!
Tilly I think you're probably right... the more I think about it, the more bizarre my question sounds! I'm clearly on a mission to capture all the town mice in my area and relocate them to some fields!
Its the environment that is the issue. If your environment is hospitable to mice then they will come. Catch all the mice in your garden and more will come to fill the empty space...catch them and more will come. If you want less mice you need to make the environment inhospitable.
Woof you're right... the problem is it isn't my garden... it's the gardens either side. We have mouse holes in both fences, to the left and right (we're in a terrace house).
In my garden there's some empty borders, grass and patio. That's it... both gardens either side of us have very, very full sheds and they're very crowded and cluttered spaces in general.
