our border collie is in season and she has started to urinate in places over the house and also in her basket.this has never happened before,she is now 4yrs old. anyone know reason for this?

Did you get her mated the last few times? Are you showing her, she's in conformation competitions, that's why she's not spayed? Has she had puppies/litter before?

Any time your dog changes it's bathroom habits a trip to the vet is needed.

no she hasnt had a litter and we arent showing her.we are getting her spayed after this time. just curious about her behaviour during this time

Well that sounds like you have a plan.

Check with the vet first.

She may be frustrated due to her not being able to find a mate so she is now marking everything to send out her calling card, if this is the first time she has ever done this.

Make sure to clean up the spots with a cleaner with an odor neutralizer, an enzyme that takes it out, so she doesn't return to it.

If her vet clears her, she has no infection or anything, you'll have to teach her again, that is, start over with her potty training, many things can cause them to change their habits. Food, home disturbance, someone leaving or arriving....etc...Good luck
