Blurred Out Closeup On Supervet

I'm watching an older episode of Supervet. He was doing surgery on a cats leg, and the close up of the joint was blurred so no detail was visible. I've never seen this before as usually every detail is shown.
Is this due to the time it's being screened...earlier than normal transmission?

Yes, when the programmes are on later thete is no blurring but earlier times blur the gory bits.

I assume that's because youngsters might be watching.
I've seen cat butt holes pixelated out a few times lately. I can't imagine anyone being upset by that. Weird
Years ago the Express printed a photograph of a very expensive bull. In order not to offend the sensibilities of its more genteel readers the bull's most important assets were air brushed out.
Same with the cat?
